On January 17, 1920, the United States officially entered a 13-year period known as “Prohibition.” Prohibition, was a nationwide constitutional ban on alcoholic beverages. During this period, the production, importation, distribution, and sale of alcohol, with few exceptions, was against the law.

The booze kept flowing however, as some enterprising individuals took it upon themselves to illegally brew and distribute the stuff themselves. But the authorities were on to them, and cracking down hard. To evade detection and throw authorities off their trail, some moonshiners had to get pretty clever…
